What is Chiropractic Therapy?

Chiropractic was developed in the U.S.A. in the late 1800’s and is primarily focused on allowing free flowing communication through the body’s nervous system to help the body to be free of ”dis - ease”. This is attained by removing imbalances in joint structures of the body with particular focus on the spine but also working with all other joints and soft tissue.

McTimoney Chiropractic is a holistic form of Chiropractic where the whole body is assessed and areas of dysfunction or imbalance are treated. Relying on speed rather than force the treatment is relatively gentle to receive, not usually resulting in the ‘cracking’ of a joint often associated with Chiropractic.

As a new patient you will undergo a comprehensive case history with a full Chiropractic explanation followed by neurological and orthopaedic testing to arrive at a diagnosis and then treatment if appropriate.

Treatment is a process to allow unwinding of the compensations around the body to get to the root causes of “dis - ease”. This typically takes 2 to 4 sessions but can depend on many individual factors and many people find benefit from maintenance treatment. Chiropractic can help with a wide range of musculo-skeletal problems.
